Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS Baseband 5.14.02 for Free with the New Ultrasn0w

November 23rd, 2010 27 Comments

There are a bunch of new iPhone users who are not very familiar with unlocking their iPhones using ultrasn0w. Therefore, the guide below will help you prepare when the new ultrasn0w is due for release anytime between November 22 and 24, 2010.

Prerequisites:

  1. You must have a jailbroken iPhone 3G or 3GS. We trust that you may have already done this either with Limera1n or Greenpois0n.
  2. You must have a working and stable WiFi connection on your iPhone.

Carrier Unlock Steps:

Before you start, remove the SIM card from your iPhone.

Step 1: Launch Cydia from the springboard.

Step 2: Tap on Manage.

Step 3: Search for ultrasn0w on Packages in Cydia. If you cannot find it, add new Sources by typing: repo666.ultrasn0w.com.

Step 4: A new ultrasnow package will be installed. Once done, go to Packages and look for ultrasnow. Tap and install it. During installation, you will see a black screen with running command lines.

Step 5: Reboot your iPhone and insert your SIM card. Toggle the Airplane mode to ON and then OFF. Your iPhone will search and register to your mobile phone network. Please be patient, sometimes it may take up to 3 minutes.

Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked your iPhone. If you encounter any issue, please leave your comments below.

Subscribe to us and we will send you an email as soon as the unlock is out!

hi, I have baseband 6.15, running 4.1 and it's fully jailbroken, on my 3g. I downloaded ultrasnow 1.2 and it won't work. it keep stating no service. I was able to get service for about 30 seconds on 2 occasions, but haven't been able to do so since then. I've read every forum and there are other people in my situation as well, but there hasn't been any solutions. Can you please help?
    Thanks in advance!

i did the jailbreal using greenpois0n

    what should i do?

    • iphonerepair says:

baseband 5.15.04 cannot be unlocked, you need to use redsn0w 0.9.6 to update the bb to 6.15.00 (may risk breaking the GPS)
