Untethered Jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPad 2 on iOS 5.0, iOS 5.0.1 with Greenpois0n Absinthe
Woohoo! Finally the wait is over. The untethered jailbreak for A5 based devices running on iOS 5.0.1 is now available via Greenpois0n Absinthe. Follow these simple steps below.
This tool was released a few hours ago by Chronic Development Team, with the collaboration of Pod2g and the iPhone Dev Team.
Currently, it’s only available for Mac but Windows and Linux version should be released soon.
Before you begin, please be sure that your device is already on iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1. Backup your device with iTunes as a precautionary measure.
Steps
1. Download Greenpois0n Absinthe for Mac, Windows or Linux.
2. Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to your computer.
3. Launch Greenpois0n and click jailbreak. Wait and be patient while it does everything for you. It may take a while.
4. Once done you will see Absinthe icon on your springboard or home screen.
5. Connect to WiFi and launch Absinthe. It may take a while to download all Cydia files as the server may be a bit busy at the moment. If you get an error message simply try again.
That’s it! You should now have Cydia installed and the jailbreak is in untethered state.

after i click on the absinthe icon i just get a white screen for a very long time?
you may have to try again
i Got the jailbreak up n running on my ipad 2 3g. but my native apps (mail, safarai, facetime appstore etc) instantly cash after opening, apps i had backed up to my pc open fine and i can open all apps in safe mode, any ideas how to fix this?
